Find out about Māori Play in Aotearoa:

The Tākaro Māori video series profiles stories that provide a window into Māori Play in Aotearoa. The series aims to demonstrate the value of play by, for, with and as Māori and will form a set of resources for whānau who wish to enable play opportunities locally. The video series showcases Māori champions of play and the real-life application of play for whānau Māori as they journey through life.

The Māori Voices of Play - Insights Report (2020) is the result of a culmination of work that is being conducted in an effort to develop a Play Action Plan for national rollout.

The Manu Tukutuku Wānanga, hosted by Crystal Pekepo-Ratu (Ngāti Vara, Ngāti Tāne, Ngāti Kahungunu) of Maataatoa, and facilitated by renowned taonga tākaro legend, Harko Brown, offered whānau in Hawkes Bay the opportunity to reconnect with traditional games and knowledge to inform play in the present.
