Centralised Services Whangarei has recently graduated from the Active Workplaces programme, reaching sustainability in workplace wellness. Over time the team have developed their in-house wellness programme, creating small initiatives, based on what staff want. This includes nutrition, movement, general wellbeing, challenges and educational opportunities.
Some examples of these initiatives are: Healthy morning teas; soup/wrap days; activity breaks (where the team gets together to move/stretch for daily micro breaks); lunch and learns; staff running stretch/strength classes inhouse; onsite massage; standing desks; health checks and promotion; team building activity with games/challenges.
Up next for Centralised Services Whangarei, is financial wellness with organised educational sessions on budgeting, retirement, savings and interest rates. September also sees staff entering the Active Workplaces STeptember Challenge, upping daily movement along with team bonding.
Centralised services has really shown that asking their staff questions like “what do you value in workplace wellness?” and “what wellness initiatives would you like to see?” has led to creating a culture that is inclusive, encouraging and supportive. Check out what staff have to say about their wellness programme –
“I really enjoy the workplace challenges and events.”
