Yummy Mums Get it Done with Blender Bike Fun!


Our kaimahi Jo Naera and Louisa Kingi (Healthy Lifestyle Team) had a great time, getting healthy with the Yummy Mummy’s coffee group. The Mums also got the opportunity to have a go on our blender bike to make some delicious healthy smoothies!

The day began with a trip to The Pulse, where we were greeted by the lovely staff who started the weekly coffee group. We brought the blender bike so the group could have a go at getting active and at the same time making a yummy healthy drink.

We kickstarted with introductions and getting to know the women in the coffee group. It was a great way of getting to connect with people and find out what is happening in their lives. Once the introductions were all done, we got started with making smoothies.

All the food was provided by those that run the group and there were some great ingredients to choose from. We had bananas, frozen berries, ice, yoghurt, chia seeds (soaked in water), spinach, coconut water and milk. The Mums were keen to try some new things and most loved their new creations (some of the babies got a taste of the smoothies too). At the end of the day, we all had a full puku and left having had a great time.
