Mangonui Netball Centre - “KOOL AS COACH”

Mangonui Netball Centre’s Coaching Co-ordinator June Subritzky is passionate about netball and knows that a positive coach can make all the difference to players both young and old.

So, her initiative to acknowledge a MNC “Kool As Coach” every month has nominations flooding in for the chance to wear one of her colourful badges.

June also has a programme of coaching courses available to attend throughout the year that are delivered by Netball Northern Zone.  The centre has over 60 members who have completed various coaching course over the last two years with 9 completing their Community Coach Award in 2015.

So if you have a coach that you think is “Kool as…” make the effort to thank them for their amazing work.

Mangonui Netball Centre (MNC) is a targeted club in the Far North District. Community Sport Advisor Lesley Wallace has been working with the centre on its ability to offer participation as well as athlete pathway opportunities in Netball for women and girls in the Te Hiku district.

“Identifying what the centre wanted and where they were at was the first step and then working with them to meet their and community needs in regard to netball followed” says Wallace, “ we have modified some of the organisational structure including management committee, draws, coaching and umpiring programmes. This is allowing us to be more effective as a sport provider in the district”
