For more than ten years the Far North District Council has invested in supporting sport in the Far North Community- part of this investment includes the Far North Sport Awards. Recognising excellence in achievement in sport, is an important part of the sporting pathway in communities. In the Far North a number of individuals and teams excel in both effort and performance in their pursuit of sporting achievements. Sport Northland collates these performances annually and holds a recognition function in which these athletes can be acknowledged.
This year the Far North District Council Far North Sports Awards will be held at Reia Taipa Resort on Friday 13th starting at 6.30pm.
A total of 58 finalists from 23 sports have been determined from nominations submitted over the past two months.
