Active Workplaces STeptember Challenge is All Go!

Active Workplaces STeptember 2020 is underway, this year attracting 105 teams and over 420 staff from various Northland workplaces.

Teams participate in the challenge to join in on some spring fun, with the goal being to gain as many steps as they can throughout the week using watches, pedometers etc.

The Step Challenge has proven to be extra popular this year, with workplaces looking to increase activity levels, add some fun into their day and come together with team bonding to enhance morale.

As we hit the tail end of the first week in the Active Workplaces STeptember challenge, check out what the teams have been up to and what they have to say about the challenge to date:

“I have never walked so far for a cause that helps myself and others. I’ve started a lifestyle change on Monday which has been challenging, but I am managing. Thank you to all the sponsors and to Sharon Adams from Sport Northland. This week, I intended to beat last week’s steps, which I’ve already done yesterday! Also, to my amazing Team RADD - thank you for your support and stepping up to the challenge. We may be team 74 but, in my eyes, we are number one!”  - Ana Sadlier.

“The Onerahi Medical Centre Steposcopes - check out the daily pedal pulse and doing our 10th flight of stairs to increase our step counts” - Jessica Rosenkranz.

“We decided to do the loop on Wednesday in the FREEZING wind and rain. Claire was trying to keep the rain out of her eyeballs!” - Shona Morgan.

“It's been buzzing at school here with Steptember and there are plenty of teachers walking around the school fields at all times of the day to get their steps up” - Monique Vanstokkum.
