Sport Northland has been working alongside Regent New World and the More FM team for Kids World throughout Northland schools promoting healthy lunchboxes as well as fun, through physical activity.
The physical activity component has given many tamariki and kura a taste of alternative fun through hip-hop dance which has been a big hit with the students.
Ruakaka Primary rooms 1 and 2 were the latest to be involved in the activity and came dressed in bright clothing for a bright colour day at the school. The students learnt a dance from the movie Trolls and showed great talent throughout the short time of learning.
At the end of the session, the students split into two groups to have a dance battle joined by the More FM team John and Flash. “With their slick moves and enthusiasm, the boys just slipped in front and came away with the win and smiles were present from all the tamariki who took part” says Horrace Maunsell, Kaiwhakahaere.
