Reaching out to the community for local sports clubs through Dargaville’s local airwaves and Big River FM radio station has been a positive initiative for sport and clubs in the district .

Local sporting correspondent, Northern Wairoa Football fanatic and recent services to sport recipient Alan Dennis, hosts the sports show which enlightens it’s followers with mostly local sport in the area but also National and International events and their goings-on.

Sport Northland’s Community Sport Advisor Joey Yovich assists with the presentation and coordination of local sporting identity’s being regular guests on the show.

Sport code representatives and sports clubs identities get their chance through their passion to drive and highlight their sport, results and any of these up and coming club fixtures that will feature throughout the season.

Through this medium Sport clubs and their identities get their opportunity to connect and tell their stories, events and happenings throughout the year, keeping Northern Wairoa public informed.

The Big River FM Sports show runs monthly on Friday mornings from 8:30am.
