Coaches are a vital piece of the puzzle within all sports. Whether you are a volunteer, a parent, or a paid coach, you have the opportunity to influence tamariki and rangatahi to enjoy sport, develop movement skills, and participate for life. Coaching is an amazing way to enrich your life, connect with your community, and stay involved in sports.
Sport NZ is partnered with iCoachKids, whose mission is to champion child-centred sport by promoting good policy and best practice. Free learning and programs are available to all coaches.
Coaching for Impact is a free 18-month programme with the objective of growing coaches to influence positive change & quality experiences in youth sport. It is a unique professional development opportunity, open to all coaches who are actively coaching secondary school age rangatahi in a school, club, regional, or national sport organisation! Click below for online application form and more information.
We all want tamariki and rangatahi to play and develop in a safe and supportive environment, where they’re encouraged to gain maximum enjoyment from what they are doing. Sport NZ offers a free learning tool for every volunteer or paid member of staff coming into contact with tamariki and rangatahi in the sector - click here.
