

New Appointment
Sport Northland is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Tamara Heremaia to the role of Northland Secondary School Events Coordinator. Tamara comes most recently from Whangarei Netball where she has been Netball Coach and Leadership Development Coordinator. Through this role she has had contact in schools with teachers and sport coordinators and is looking forward to the new challenges the secondary school events role presents. Tamara begins her role on June 4th.

Junior Cricket Back in the Bay.
This season the Far North Cricket Association ran a junior competition in the Bay of Islands for the first time in a number of years. Starting in November the competition ran for several weeks at Kerikeri Primary before the Christmas break and resumed in the New Year. Practices have been held every Wednesday evening at both Kerikeri and Riverview primary schools with close to 50 children in years 3-6 participating over the season... more

What will CXWORX do for me? CXWORX is a low impact and low cardio 30 minute workout that caters to all fitness levels. It is ideal for tightening your stomach and glutes, while also improving funtional strength and assisting in injury prevention. This class will motivate you to venture outside your comfort zone. Asthma *
IMPROVEMENTS PLUS! This class is essentially about learning how to breath properly and is combined with basic free weight exercises. If you’re a sufferer of asthma and regularly get along to this class, you are bound to notice the difference! IT’S FREE TO EVERYONE!

All referrals to the Movement Rehabilitation Programme must go through NASC (Needs Assessment Service Co-ordination) and they are situated in the Northland Disabilities Resource Centre, John Street – Ph 4300988.

Kiwi Senior Classes - Regular Activities for 60+
LITE CIRCUIT *
IT’S ALL GOOD STUFF in this easy move class which combines the use of circuit machines with basic aerobics movements to help improve all-round strength and fitness.
LITE PACE*
Lite Pace is a KiwiSeniors class with entry charge of $4.00. Any non KiwiSeniors are required to pay a casual fee. MOVE AND GROOVE in an easy move class. This is a class that suits the older participant and covers basic aerobics movement patterns.
SIT FIT*
Sit Fit is a seated exercise class for the less able or wheelchair exercisers to join the able bodied. It is an efficient all over body workout. The gentle exercise is a fun low impact movement to music class.
